On Saturday, September 21, the OBEA Pride Committee lived up to its name when it set up shop and participated in another successful Old Bridge Day! Several OBEA members spent the day meeting and greeting thousands of Old Bridge students and residents who came out to join in the fun.
The Pride in Public Education Committee gave out insulated lunch bags emblazoned with the OBEA insignia, as well as balloons for the kids. The committee collected email contacts from each of the visitors who received one of our lunch bags. We can use this contact information to expand our connection with the community we serve daily. The members engaged heartily with the citizens, community groups, students, politicians and other visitors throughout the day, and the OBEA tent was definitely one of the most frequently visited. Our volunteers had a wonderful time and did a great job exemplifying to the community the professionalism and commitment to the people of Old Bridge that our members demonstrate every day.
Thank you to Nancy Cogland, Lynn Walters, Ellen Connor, Sue Gierolewicz, Jess Hammetz, Chris LoNigro, Shana Rosenbaum, Laura Gula, Lynn Arzig, and Michelle George, who gave their time on a Saturday to serve the OBEA and their community.
Please consider joining the Pride Committee at one of the future events, such as the Pink Out Football Game on 10/12/18 or the OBEA Free Family Movie Night on 10/26/18. Email Chris LoNigro at OBEAGetInvolved@gmail.com. Together, we can and do make a difference!
